Grades 9 - 12 Grades 6 - 8 Life Skills Special Education Teacher | Trenton, Florida

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with Life Skills or Special Education endorsement (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience working with students in grades K-12, preferably in life skills or special education classrooms
• Strong understanding of age-appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies for K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 grade levels
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
• Collaborative spirit, able to partner with staff, therapists, and families
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to support student growth and varying learning styles

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans centered on practical, daily living skills, social-emotional growth, and academic foundations
• Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental and cognitive needs of a diverse student population
• Engage in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings and maintain detailed progress notes
• Facilitate a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and self-advocacy
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school community initiatives
