Grades K - 5 Grades 9 - 12 Life Skills Teacher in Trenton, FL

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with a focus in special education or life skills instruction (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Experience working with students across grades K–12 preferred
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to foster a supportive, encouraging classroom environment
• Organization and flexibility working with diverse learners
• Commitment to promoting independence and self-advocacy among students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging life skills instruction tailored to students at elementary, middle, and high school levels
• Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to support individual learning needs
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, therapists, and families
• Track student progress and report on goals as part of IEP meetings
• Create an inclusive classroom culture that enhances students’ confidence and functional independence
• Teach social skills, daily living skills, vocational training, and communication techniques
• Implement behavior management strategies as needed
