Grades 6 - 8 K-5 Life Skills Special Education Teacher - Waynesboro, Virginia

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification (special education or applicable endorsement preferred)
• Proven experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities or special needs
• Comfortable with multiple grade ranges (K-12)
• Solid understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Collaborative mindset and adaptable teaching style

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized and group instruction focused on life skills, self-care, social-emotional learning, and community integration
• Assess student abilities, track progress, and adjust instructional methods as needed
• Foster a classroom environment that cultivates respect, independence, and motivation
• Develop and manage IEP goals in collaboration with families and school teams
• Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and related service providers to support each student's growth
