Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Andover, KS

Make a meaningful impact by providing dedicated care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a school setting. Support a 12th-grade student requiring 1:1 assistance throughout the school day. This fulfilling contract position involves working closely with a student who has complex medical needs and helping him thrive in an educational environment. Staff hours run from 7:40 AM – 3:10 PM, Monday through Friday, aligning with traditional school days.

Desired Background:

• Current, active LPN/LVN license in good standing
• Experience with tracheostomy and GI tube care required
• Previous exposure to pediatric or school-based settings preferred
• Comfortable working with students who have conditions such as TBI, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and multiple complex medical diagnoses
• CPR certification (current)
• Strong communication and documentation abilities
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability to support both student and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive 1:1 nursing care to a high school student with trach and GI tube needs
• Monitor and respond to seizure activity and respiratory concerns
• Administer medications and perform interventions per care plan
• Assist with feeding, mobility, and personal care while ensuring dignity and safety
• Collaborate with special education staff and healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily care, interventions, and observations
• Promote a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for the student in the school community
