A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide dedicated one-on-one care to an 8th-grade male student with complex eating and emotional disorders. This position is based onsite at a middle school in Arroyo Grande, CA, requiring a compassionate professional equipped with mental health experience to support the student’s health and educational engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized nursing care tailored to the student’s complex medical and emotional needs
- Monitor and manage the student’s health conditions throughout the school day
- Respond to urgent health needs and provide support to other students as part of an LVN pool when required
- Collaborate with educational and healthcare teams to ensure integrated support plans
- Maintain detailed health records and communicate effectively with school staff and families
Qualifications:
- Active California LVN license is mandatory
- Prior experience working with mental health conditions, particularly in pediatric or school settings, is highly preferred
- Ability to manage complex health situations calmly and efficiently
- Male candidates are preferred due to the nature of care needed
- Strong communication skills and professionalism in a school environment
Hours and Location:
- Onsite position located in Arroyo Grande, CA
- Full semester contract from January 13, 2026, to June 9, 2026
- 32.5 hours per week, with a 7-hour day including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
