Requirements and Preferred Experience:
- Current and active LPN or LVN license in California
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly desired
- Familiarity with common pediatric conditions and ability to provide age-appropriate care
- Ability to respond calmly to health emergencies and efficiently provide first aid
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in basic computer documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students according to individualized health plans
- Dispense medication and perform health procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate health records and follow confidentiality regulations
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other support staff to promote student wellness
- Educate students and staff on health practices, illness prevention, and safety
- Respond promptly to illness and injury, communicating as needed with parents or guardians
- Support health screenings, immunization tracking, and reporting requirements
