Seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide personalized medical support for a 5th-grade student in an educational setting during the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract role offers the unique opportunity to work one-on-one, ensuring the health and well-being of a child with specialized medical needs. The position requires a compassionate and skilled nurse to assist with daily care, from the student's home to school and back, in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) and physician’s directives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Georgia LPN license required
  • Strong experience working 1:1 with pediatric patients in a school or pediatric setting preferred
  • Skilled in managing seizures, oral suctioning, G/J-tube feedings, supplemental oxygen administration, and medication dispensing
  • Familiarity with asthma care protocols
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a school environment
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Reliability and punctuality for early morning responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Change and administer G-tube feeds and occasional supplemental oxygen as prescribed
  • Monitor vital signs and assess the student’s health status throughout the day
  • Administer medications and manage seizure protocols according to doctor’s orders
  • Provide oral suctioning and manage respiratory needs as required
  • Meet the student at home at 6:30 am, accompany on the bus to school, and return in the afternoon
  • Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to care standards
  • Act as a collaborative partner with teachers, school staff, and the student’s family
