Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting students who need dedicated healthcare during their school experience. This contract opportunity is for an LPN/LVN Nurse to provide individualized care for a student in a school setting near Aurora and St. Charles, IL.

Your focus will be on attending to the specific needs of one student, delivering both skilled nursing interventions and genuine compassion. The role centers around monitoring, feeding assistance, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a single student with Down Syndrome throughout the school day
  • Administer 8 scheduled G-tube feedings daily
  • Provide comprehensive diabetic care: monitor blood glucose using Blue Loop, perform carb counting, and administer insulin per physician orders
  • Maintain accurate, compliant health documentation
  • Communicate changes in health status to school personnel and parents as needed
  • Respond calmly and effectively to any health emergencies
  • Promote a positive, supportive experience for the student in the classroom and during transitions

Ideal Background:

  • Current, active LPN or LVN license in Illinois
  • Previous experience working in school, pediatric, or one-on-one care settings preferred
  • Familiarity with G-tube feedings and diabetes management is required
  • Comfortable using digital health tracking tools (such as Blue Loop)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility
