Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting student health in a vibrant school setting near Aurora, IL. This school-based LPN role centers on delivering personalized care for a student with Down Syndrome, ensuring safety, comfort, and academic participation.

In this 1:1 position, you’ll provide critical support such as approximately eight daily G-tube feedings, comprehensive diabetic management—including blood glucose monitoring via Blue Loop, carb counting, and insulin administration—as well as attentive observation for any changes or needs throughout the school day.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active LPN or LVN license in Illinois
  • Previous experience in pediatric, school, or similar care settings preferred
  • Skilled in G-tube feedings and related documentation
  • Confident in administering diabetic care (monitoring, carb counting, insulin)
  • Understanding, patient, and capable of supporting individuals with developmental differences
  • Up-to-date CPR/BLS certification
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer enteral feedings and maintain equipment per care plan
  • Monitor and log blood glucose readings; use Blue Loop for accurate data tracking
  • Calculate carbohydrate intake, administer insulin as prescribed, and document appropriately
  • Support the student’s successful inclusion in daily classroom activities
  • Serve as a point of contact for staff regarding student health needs during the school day
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all health protocols and district policies
