School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Aurora, IL

This contract opportunity is ideal for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVNs) who are dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care in a 1:1 educational environment.

In this role, you’ll support a student with Down Syndrome, serving as a vital member of their care team throughout the school day. Your primary responsibilities will include administering and monitoring G-tube feedings (approximately eight per day), as well as managing diabetic care needs. This includes monitoring blood glucose using Blue Loop, performing insulin administration, and assisting with carb counting to ensure accurate and timely medication and dietary support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active LPN/LVN license in Illinois
• Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or 1:1 care environment is strongly preferred
• Competence in G-tube feeding protocols and related clinical practices
• Proficiency in diabetic care, including blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and carb counting
• Basic understanding of technology platforms like Blue Loop (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Compassionate, patient, and resourceful communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver attentive 1:1 support for a student’s daily health requirements
• Manage all aspects of diabetic care and G-tube feedings according to medical guidelines
