Make a direct impact in a school setting by providing one-on-one support to a student with essential medical needs. This contract opportunity is perfect for an LPN eager to combine clinical skills with educational care, working alongside a supportive team to create a safe and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications via G-tube according to school and healthcare protocols.
  • Perform frequent suctioning in line with medical guidelines and student requirements.
  • Assist with oral feeding and hydration while ensuring best practices for safe swallowing and careful monitoring of intake.
  • Support toileting, prioritizing the student’s dignity, hygiene, and comfort.
  • Help with lifting, repositioning, and transfers, using approved techniques and necessary equipment to uphold safety for both student and staff.
  • Monitor and document the student’s health, promptly reporting concerns to designated medical personnel.
  • Collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and healthcare staff to provide holistic support.
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active LPN certification.
  • Prior experience with children, especially those with complex medical needs, is strongly preferred.
  • Training or experience with G-tube care, suctioning, and feeding assistance is an asset.
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks, such as lifting and positioning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
