Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting an 18-year-old male student with complex medical needs in a school setting just outside Boston, MA. This assignment offers the chance to make a meaningful impact, working one-on-one to provide essential care while accompanying the student between home and school, supporting his participation in an educational program.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license required.
- Experience in a school, pediatric, or 1:1 nursing role preferred.
- Comfortable providing full body range of motion assistance, including use of ceiling lifts and continuous repositioning.
- Familiarity with supportive devices such as TLSO (torso brace) and AFOs (ankle braces) is strongly desired.
- Confident managing pulmonary care routines: nebulizer treatments (multiple medications), chest physiotherapy with a vest, cough assist, and oral suctioning.
- Ability to support transportation needs and accompany the student during van rides to and from school.
Position Highlights:
- Hours total approximately 40 per week, supporting the student throughout the school day and on transport to and from his educational program.
- Summer schedule runs July 6 to August 7, typically from about 8:00am–2:30pm daily.
- School-year schedule resumes August 31, with full days generally from 7:30am–3:20pm.
- Opportunity for a long-term role, anticipated to continue into the following academic year.
