This full-time contract position offers consistent weekday hours from 7:45am to 2:15pm, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.
The role centers around dedicated 1:1 care for a non-verbal kindergarten girl diagnosed with CDKL5 deficiency disorder, global developmental delay, and epilepsy. The student experiences frequent myoclonic and tonic seizures, requiring attentive, compassionate nursing expertise throughout the school day. You’ll have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact in this child’s daily life, while partnering closely with educators and the student’s family.
Qualifications:
- Active LPN/LVN license in Massachusetts
- Previous pediatric experience, preferably within a school environment
- Proficiency in seizure management, including administration of nasal rescue medications
- Strong observational and documentation skills
- Ability to provide calm, patient care during seizures and other complex medical needs
- Comfort working 1:1 with non-verbal, special needs students
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and team collaboration
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support and direct nursing care throughout the school day
- Quickly recognize, document, and respond to seizure activity using best-practice protocols
- Administer prescribed nasal spray seizure medication as needed
- Monitor health status and maintain detailed, accurate notes
- Communicate effectively with school staff, therapists, and family members
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times
