School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Cambridge, MA

Make a positive difference in students’ lives by providing vital nursing care in an elementary school setting! We’re seeking a dedicated LPN to join a collaborative nursing team for the upcoming academic year (August 2026–June 2027). This contract role supports a medical complex elementary school near Cambridge, MA. You’ll work side by side with a full-time RN in a shared office, ensuring continuity of quality care throughout the school year.

What You’ll Need:

• Active and unencumbered LPN or LVN license in Massachusetts
• Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school or complex care environments
• Ability to manage daily healthcare needs for students, including medication administration and monitoring chronic health conditions
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
• Compassionate, adaptable approach to working with children, families, and educational staff

Your Responsibilities:

• Assist students with medical needs during the school day, under the direction of an RN
• Administer prescribed medications and specialized treatments
• Respond promptly and effectively to health emergencies
• Document and report care interventions in accordance with school procedures
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and outside providers as necessary to ensure optimal student wellbeing
• Contribute to a nurturing and safe school environment

Position Details & Benefits:

• Full-time contract: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
• Approximate schedule: 32–35 hours each week
