In this role, you’ll provide expert care to a student needing specialized respiratory monitoring, working onsite each afternoon for one hour to start—with the potential for increased hours as the student’s endurance builds.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Washington State LPN certification/licensure
- Prior experience working as an LPN/LVN, preferably in a school or pediatric environment
- Competency and confidence in tracheostomy care and monitoring (required)
- Ability to adapt hours of care in response to a student’s emerging needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to student well-being
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one nursing care to a student requiring tracheostomy support each school day
- Monitor vital signs, manage respiratory equipment, and respond rapidly to any health concerns
- Document all interventions and progress in a timely, accurate manner
- Serve as a key member of the student’s support team, ensuring a safe and inclusive school experience
- Maintain confidentiality, adhering to all state and federal regulations regarding student health data
- Adjust your daily care schedule as the student’s stamina improves throughout the school year
