School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Chicago, IL

This contract role is an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) who is enthusiastic about working with children and seeking part-time hours that fit with other commitments. You will ensure the safety and well-being of a student with a seizure disorder during school transportation, offering both your clinical expertise and compassionate presence.

The position involves traveling to and from school, accompanying the student on the bus during both morning and afternoon routes. Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Active LPN/LVN license in Illinois
• Previous experience in school or pediatric nursing highly preferred
• Prior knowledge of seizure disorders and protocols for student care
• Ability to respond efficiently and calmly in emergency situations
• Excellent communication and observation skills
• Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to assigned hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Accompany student on the school bus in the morning (7:00–8:25 a.m.) and afternoon (2:00–3:15 p.m.)
• Monitor student’s health and safety during transport
• Respond quickly and appropriately to any medical needs or seizure activity
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with school staff and parents
• Maintain accurate documentation of all observations and interventions
