School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Clifton, New Jersey

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a dedicated student in a school setting near Clifton, NJ. This specialized role is ideal for an RN or LPN (with preference for RNs) who is passionate about providing attentive, compassionate care to students with complex medical needs.

In this position, you’ll work weekdays—Monday through Friday—from approximately 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM. You’ll provide consistent, one-on-one support to a non-verbal student with autism who also manages diabetes and has specific respiratory health needs. No bus monitoring or reassignment is required; your focus will solely be on this student's well-being throughout the school day.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state of New Jersey
• Prior experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or special needs preferred
• Comfort and competency in caring for students with autism and non-verbal communication
• Experience or familiarity with diabetes care (especially Dexcom monitoring)
• Ability to safely feed a student pureed foods according to their dietary plan
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with the building nurse and multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and manage student’s diabetes using Dexcom per the individualized care plan
• Respond to any respiratory concerns as needed
• Feed student pureed foods safely and according to dietary guidelines
• Communicate and coordinate consistently with the building nurse
• Provide compassionate one-on-one care with sensitivity to the student’s specific needs
