Take on a rewarding contract assignment providing one-on-one care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within local schools near Derry and Manchester, NH. This full-time position will have you partnering closely with students, ensuring their daily health needs are met and supporting their participation in the educational setting.
Open caseloads are available, and your specific assignment can be matched based on your skills and preferences. Several roles require bus riding to and from school with your assigned student. Daily responsibilities vary but may involve health monitoring, direct medical care, and assisting with classroom activities to promote student engagement.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Current, active LPN license in the state of New Hampshire (or compact licensure)
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus
- Comfortable providing 1:1 care in a dynamic school environment
- Willingness to communicate your experience and comfort level with the following: tracheostomy care, G-tube feeding, ventilator management, seizure care, diabetic care, toileting, bus riding, and assisting with academics
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable with strong communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized healthcare support to assigned students during school hours and, in some cases, during transportation on the school bus
- Administer medications and perform health procedures as outlined in each student’s plan of care
- Respond swiftly to medical needs or emergencies
- Work collaboratively with educational staff to support students’ participation in learning
- Maintain accurate, timely health records and documentation
