This contract opportunity seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) who is passionate about working part-time with students in a middle school environment and accompanying them into the community. The position spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering varied, flexible hours in a supportive educational setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Pennsylvania LPN license
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus
  • Understanding and ability to monitor seizure activity and respond to emergencies with appropriate medication administration
  • Strong verbal communication skills; able to offer frequent verbal cues and support as needed
  • Comfortable traveling within the community as part of the student’s transition program
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and compassion

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive monitoring for a single, ambulatory student enrolled in an autistic support transition program
  • Travel with the student in the community (for work assignments, etc.), ensuring safety and readiness to act in the event of a medical emergency
  • Remain on-site during designated program hours, partnering with the school's building nurse when at the middle school
  • Rely primarily on verbal prompting and cues; hands-on care not required
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors for weekly scheduling and clear communication around needs and assignments
