High School Certified School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Easley, SC

Make an impact by supporting a high school student as a contract Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a rewarding 1:1 assignment. This position offers the chance to work closely with a cognitively high-functioning student who is paralyzed, assisting them throughout the school day and ensuring their well-being and educational access.

Key Qualifications:

• Current LPN license in good standing
• Certification in practical nursing
• Previous experience with ventilator-dependent patients required
• Comfortable performing 1:1 nursing care in a school setting
• Ability to develop trust and rapport with high school-aged students
• Willingness to ride the school bus with the student, ensuring safety and support during transportation
• Reliable and able to commit to a consistent 30 hours each week

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized, compassionate nursing care throughout the school day
• Monitor, manage, and provide all necessary interventions for a student with paralysis who requires ventilator support
• Accompany and support the student on the school bus, handling all medical needs during transit
• Collaborate closely with school staff and the student’s family to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate health documentation and follow all district and healthcare policies

This contract position offers a meaningful, consistent workweek with Wednesdays off, as the student does not attend school midweek. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference supporting an engaged student in their educational pursuits, in a professional and supportive environment.
