A rewarding opportunity awaits for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to make a significant impact in a school environment for the upcoming academic year. This contract position begins in late August and extends through early June, providing the chance to build meaningful connections while supporting student health and safety.
In this role, you’ll provide dedicated 1:1 care for a female student who requires ongoing monitoring and the potential administration of rescue medication both in the classroom and during daily transportation. The district values consistency, so you’ll join the student on her bus rides, ensuring her well-being to and from school. Should the student be absent, you’ll have flexibility to substitute in other school health settings, offering professional variety throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted LPN or RN license issued by the state of Pennsylvania
- Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric care preferred
- Familiarity with rescue medication administration and student health monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to student confidentiality and safety at all times
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive 1:1 nursing care during classes and on the school bus
- Administer rescue medication as needed and carefully track the student’s health status
- Maintain clear records and promptly communicate any health concerns
- Substitute for other school nurses when the primary student is not present
This contract offers consistent weekly hours ranging from approximately 30–37.5, aligning with the district calendar and student attendance. You’ll find this role especially rewarding if you value one-on-one patient relationships and the ability to make a daily difference in a student’s school experience.
