School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Edison, New Jersey

A full-time nursing role is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a high school student with special needs in a school setting. This contract position is located in Edison, NJ, and runs for the current school year.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing one-on-one care to a wheelchair-bound student
• Administering medication and managing medical devices, including a Vagal Nerve Stimulator (VNS) for seizures and an oxygen tank
• Assisting with mobility using bus riding and a hoyer lift for safe transfers
• Monitoring the student’s health status throughout the school day from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Collaborating with school staff to ensure a supportive environment

Desired qualifications:

• Valid RN or LPN/LVN nursing license
• Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school environment
• Knowledge of seizure management and emergency procedures
• Ability to perform lifting and transfers with assistance of lifting equipment
• Strong communication and observational skills

• Edison, New Jersey, serving a high school student on a school-year contract basis
