School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Fall River, Massachusetts

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a student’s health and well-being in a school setting. In this vital role, you’ll provide 1:1 nursing care for a student who is wheelchair-bound, non-verbal, and experiences seizures. This student requires dedicated support during transportation to and from school, with responsibilities split between morning and afternoon bus rides.

Your day will start with accompanying the student from 7:00am to 9:00am and resume in the afternoon from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, occasionally extending later. With approximately 20-25 hours per week, this position offers the flexibility to work mornings or afternoons exclusively if preferred, making it ideal for candidates seeking a part-time opportunity or two nurses interested in splitting shifts.

Key Qualifications:

• Current MA LPN/LVN license required
• Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care is highly desirable
• Demonstrated competency in managing seizure protocols and wheelchair transfers
• Ability to communicate effectively with school staff, families, and medical professionals
• Up-to-date fingerprints and a cleared CORI background check
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability when supporting non-verbal students

What You’ll Do:

• Ride the bus with the student, providing direct 1:1 care
• Monitor, respond, and manage medical emergencies such as seizures
• Maintain detailed care notes, documenting any incidents or changes
• Assist with daily mobility and ensure the student’s comfort and safety
• Collaborate with school and transport staff to coordinate care
