School Nurse (LPN) - Flint, MI

A school-based licensed practical nurse (LPN/LVN) opportunity is available to provide essential healthcare support within a K-12 educational setting located in Flint, Michigan. This role offers a leave replacement contract with a focus on delivering specialized, one-on-one nursing care to students at a preschool and childcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing support to students requiring medical attention during school hours.
• Perform G-tube suctioning and provide tracheostomy (trach) care as prescribed.
• Support students’ health needs with minimal toileting assistance expected.
• Collaborate with school staff to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid LPN or LVN licensure aligned with school nursing practices.
• Experience in pediatric nursing, particularly with tracheostomy and G-tube care.
• Ability to follow protocols and ensure compliance with school district health requirements.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff, families, and healthcare teams.

Schedule & Duration:

• Half-day shifts from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
• Specific coverage dates: February 3, 9, 12, 17, 19; March 5, 11; April 7, 9, 10; May 7.
• Contract position covering leave assignments.

Additional Requirements:

• District badge and fingerprinting obtained onsite are mandatory before starting.
• Acceptance of the substitute role must be confirmed by 8:00 AM or the beginning of the school day.
