School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Flowery Branch, GA

This contract opportunity calls for a dedicated and experienced LPN to provide one-on-one support to a 5th grader with complex medical needs throughout the academic year. You’ll start and finish each school day alongside the student, ensuring their safety and well-being from home, during the bus ride, and at school.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current, active LPN license in the state of Georgia
• Prior experience as a 1:1 school nurse strongly preferred
• Skilled in seizure protocols, oral suctioning, G/J-tube management, medication administration, and supplemental oxygen support
• Ability to independently manage asthma and other chronic conditions
• Reliable transportation to meet the student at their home each morning
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 nursing care, including monitoring vitals, administering medication, and managing g-tube feedings
• Address urgent student needs such as seizures or respiratory emergencies
• Start the day by meeting the student at home, then accompany them on the bus to and from school as mandated by the IEP and doctor’s orders
• Maintain accurate documentation and keep open lines of communication with staff and parents
• Act as an advocate and trusted resource for the student throughout the school day
