School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Fredericksburg, Virginia

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed to support students in a school setting in Fredericksburg, VA, with a focus on one-on-one care and assistance for medically complex students. This contract position offers approximately 37.5 hours per week and provides a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children requiring specialized medical attention during the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one nursing care to a student with a complex medical history, including tube feedings and seizure management involving Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS).
• Assist with activities of daily living and ensure the student’s safety throughout the school day.
• Monitor and observe the student’s condition, intervening as necessary to address medical needs promptly.
• Support other students’ medical and safety needs when the primary student is not in the classroom.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students requiring nursing care.

Qualifications:

• Valid LPN/LVN licensure.
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric care, particularly with medically complex children.
• Knowledge of seizure intervention techniques and tube feeding procedures.
• Ability to provide compassionate and attentive care tailored to individual student needs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a school setting.
