Requirements:

• Active LPN license in the state of Virginia
• Experience with school-based nursing or a strong desire to work in a school environment
• Demonstrated flexibility—open to riding school buses, providing seizure care, diabetes management, and performing G-tube and tracheostomy care
• Comfortable assisting with toileting, diapering, and similar care needs for students
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
• Organized, adaptable, and committed to student health and safety

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing nursing care for students and administer medical interventions as needed
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support students’ educational access
• Support students’ daily health needs, including medication administration, emergency response, and chronic health management
• Assist with transportation needs on school buses for students with medical plans
• Keep accurate health records and report on student health status
• Educate students as well as staff regarding best health practices and protocols
