Located in Fremont, CA, this part-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in an early childhood school setting. The role focuses on delivering 1:1 nursing support for a preschool student requiring seizure monitoring and medication administration. This contract runs from ASAP through June 4th, with shifts scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:10 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous seizure monitoring and administer prescribed medications according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with the district nurse to receive comprehensive training tailored to the student's specific health needs.
- Work closely alongside a dedicated 1:1 paraeducator to support the student’s safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation related to the student’s health and medications.
- Communicate effectively with the educational team to ensure integrated care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with current and valid licensure.
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred, particularly in seizure management.
- Ability to work independently and manage critical health situations calmly and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with educators, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
