School Nurse (LPN) - Gettysburg, PA

Key Qualifications:

• Active LPN or LVN license required
• Previous experience working with students or pediatric populations is preferred
• Flexible and adaptable to shifting between two nearby school sites as needed
• Confidence in providing support for students with spina bifida and diabetes
• Willingness to collaborate effectively with school nursing staff and educators
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the school nurse with daily health office operations, promoting student safety and wellness
• Deliver medical support to students as needed, including medication administration, first aid, and routine care
• Step in as substitute PCA/1:1 support staff when required, providing specialized care for three students (two with spina bifida, one with diabetes)
• Maintain accurate healthcare documentation in line with school policies and privacy standards
• Serve across two school buildings, both conveniently located within ten minutes of each other, responding flexibly to district needs
• Support a caring and inclusive atmosphere by acting as a reliable health resource for students and staff

This contract opportunity runs from late August through May (35 hours/week), perfectly aligning with the academic calendar and providing a steady, school-year schedule.
