Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students during the Extended School Year session in a school-based nursing role! Located near Glendale, CA, this contract position runs from July 13, 2026, through August 7, 2026, with full-time hours from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. You'll work closely with one student, ensuring safety and well-being throughout the program.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active California LPN, LVN, or RN license required
  • Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
  • Skilled in diabetes management and monitoring
  • Familiarity with Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), especially Doxcom devices
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily nursing care to one student with diabetes
  • Monitor CGM data via Doxcom and respond promptly to any alerts indicating a drop in glucose levels
  • Administer medication as directed, particularly if the student becomes unresponsive
  • Collaborate with school staff and communicate regularly with caregivers as needed
  • Maintain clear and accurate health records
  • Ensure a safe, supportive environment for the student throughout the school day
