School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Grover Beach, California

This onsite contract role is ideal for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a passion for pediatric care and collaboration. In this position, you will work closely with a pool of LVNs to serve students during the regular school year, ensuring their wellbeing and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid and active California LVN license is required
• Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Proficient in basic nursing assessments, medication administration, and health documentation
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and families
• Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable in fast-paced school environments
• Skilled in time management and independent decision-making

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nurse care to students according to healthcare plans and school procedures
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage medical equipment as needed
• Document health histories, incidents, and interventions promptly and accurately
• Communicate health concerns or needs to teachers, parents, and school administration
• Support the coordination of care with district nursing staff and contribute as part of the LVN pool
• Respond to health emergencies effectively while remaining calm and professional
• Educate students and staff on wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention

This contract opportunity offers consistent daytime hours—6.5 hours each day, totaling 32.5 hours per week—throughout the regular school year. Opportunities to work during ESY are available by sign-up, providing flexible options for continued professional growth.
