Step into an impactful role serving students as an LVN during the summer/Extended School Year (ESY) session. This contract position focuses on providing dedicated healthcare support within a school environment, fostering a safe and welcoming space for all learners. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the health and well-being of students, ensuring they receive the attention and care they need throughout the program.
Qualifications:
- Current and active LPN or LVN license in California.
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with faculty, parents, and students.
- Current CPR certification (BLS).
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to student health needs.
- Excellent organization and record-keeping skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily nursing care and administer medications or treatments as prescribed.
- Address student injuries and acute illnesses promptly and effectively.
- Assist students with chronic health conditions, offering ongoing support and monitoring.
- Maintain accurate health records in accordance with school and state regulations.
- Work closely with faculty and staff to develop care plans and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed.
- Communicate clearly with parents and guardians regarding health incidents or concerns.
- Participate in emergency preparedness initiatives and provide first aid as required.
