School LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Hartford, Connecticut

Make a meaningful difference in the school community by providing essential healthcare support on a one-to-one basis for a medically fragile high school student. This contract opportunity is perfect for an experienced LPN seeking a rewarding position with a regular, predictable schedule. Work Wednesday shifts from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm (with early release at 12:10 pm on designated days), providing compassionate care in a supportive educational environment until mid-June.

Key Qualifications:

• Current LPN or LVN license valid in Connecticut
• Active BLS and CPR certifications
• Experience supporting school-aged children or working in a school-based setting preferred
• Dedication to professionalism and strong communication abilities
• Demonstrated respect for confidentiality and care protocols
• Comfort and confidence managing 1:1 healthcare for a medically fragile student

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized healthcare and monitoring for a high school student throughout the school day
• Collaborate closely with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to support the student’s well-being
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting as needed
• Respond appropriately to health concerns or emergencies
• Create a positive, inclusive, and reassuring atmosphere for the student
• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety and privacy standards

This schedule is limited to specified Wednesday dates: Sept 16; Oct 7, 21, 28; Nov 11, 18; Dec 9, 16; Jan 6, 13, 27; Feb 3, 10, 24; March 31; April 7, 21, 28; May 12, 19, 26. Onsite interviews are preferred to help you get acquainted with the setting.
