School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Haysville, Kansas

This full-time contract role supports a 12th grade student throughout the school day from 7:40 am to 3:10 pm. The student uses a wheelchair and requires comprehensive, compassionate 1:1 nursing. Daily responsibilities will include supporting complex medical needs such as trach and GI tube management and addressing conditions associated with TBI, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, visual impairment, and chronic respiratory challenges. Your expertise is crucial in ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal participation in the school environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active LPN/LVN license in Kansas required
• Previous experience in school settings preferred
• Hands-on skills with trach and GJ tube care essential
• Familiarity with protocols for epilepsy management, ventilators, and chronic respiratory care
• Comfort assisting students with mobility limitations, including wheelchair use
• Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators and families
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to urgent situations

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous 1:1 medical support to the student throughout the school day
• Monitor and maintain trach, GI tube, and respiratory needs
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed
• Implement seizure safety protocols and care routines
• Support student participation in classroom and school activities
• Maintain accurate nursing records and communicate updates to guardians and medical providers
