Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Haysville, KS

Step into a unique and rewarding contract opportunity as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working one-on-one to support a high school senior with complex medical needs throughout their school day. This is a full-time position following staff hours from 7:40 AM to 3:10 PM, where you will truly make a difference every day.

You will be an integral part of the student’s educational journey, providing direct, individualized care and ensuring safety and comfort at all times. The student’s conditions include tracheostomy and GI tube dependency, cerebral palsy, intractable epilepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and several other medical complexities. Compassion, diligence, and adaptability are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications & Experience

• Current LPN/LVN licensure and good standing required
• Experience with trach care, GI tube feedings, and wheelchair mobility support
• Familiarity with seizure management and Vagal Nerve Stimulator monitoring preferred
• Skilled at working with students with significant medical and developmental needs
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities with school staff, family, and providers
• Previous school-based or pediatric LPN experience highly desirable

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care throughout the school day, including trach suctioning, tube feedings, seizure response, and respiratory interventions
• Provide support with mobility, positioning, and transfers
• Maintain accurate care documentation and health records
• Communicate health status and needs to designated school staff and caregivers
• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment
