Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Joliet, IL

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Current, active LPN or LVN license in the state of Illinois.
• Experience with G-tube feedings and diabetes management (preferred).
• Confidence in carb counting, insulin administration, and monitoring blood glucose using Blue Loop or similar platforms.
• Ability to maintain detailed, accurate health records while delivering care discreetly and compassionately.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with students, staff, and families.
• Previous pediatric or school-based nursing preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily G-tube feedings (approximately eight per day) as prescribed and monitor for any issues.
• Provide thorough diabetic care, including checking blood glucose, administering insulin per orders, and supporting carb counting.
• Track and document all treatments and interventions, collaborating with school staff and guardians as needed.
• Respond calmly and efficiently to health emergencies or changes in the student’s condition.
• Offer gentle encouragement and support to help foster a positive school experience.
