Key Experience & Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted LPN or LVN license in Illinois
- Prior experience in school or pediatric care settings preferred
- Working knowledge of G-tube feedings and diabetes management—including blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and carbohydrate counting
- Comfortable utilizing health technology platforms (such as Blue Loop) to monitor and document blood glucose levels
- Strong communication abilities to collaborate with school staff and families
- Compassionate approach suited to supporting children with developmental differences
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive 1:1 care for a student requiring both G-tube feeding (approximately 8 times per school day) and diabetic care
- Monitor blood glucose levels using Blue Loop, manage insulin administration, and calculate carbohydrates intake as needed
- Collaborate with school staff and families to share care updates and manage any emerging health needs
- Maintain accurate records of all medical care, interventions, and observations
- Respond promptly and calmly to any health emergencies during the school day
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and safe environment for your assigned student
