A specialized Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed for a contract position in a school setting located in the Joliet/St. Charles, IL area. This role focuses on providing dedicated one-on-one healthcare support to a student with Down Syndrome, requiring expertise in G-tube feedings and diabetic care management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer approximately eight G-tube feedings daily, ensuring proper nutrition and safety.
  • Monitor blood glucose levels using the Blue Loop app, maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide insulin administration and perform carbohydrate counting to manage diabetes effectively.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support the student’s health and educational needs.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to any changes in the student’s health condition.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current LPN or LVN license with relevant school nursing experience.
  • Proficiency in G-tube feeding and diabetic care management in pediatric settings.
  • Familiarity with blood glucose monitoring tools, specifically the Blue Loop system.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a school environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
