This contract opportunity centers around providing one-on-one care for a delightful 4th-grade student who is ambulatory, with no behavioral challenges. As a licensed LPN/LVN, you will offer crucial support throughout the school day, ensuring the student’s health and safety while fostering an inclusive, positive atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
- Active LPN or LVN license required
- Direct experience with tracheostomy care and g-tube management
- Previous pediatric, school, or 1:1 healthcare experience is preferred
- Compassionate attitude, reliability, and effective communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and home health nurses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily 1:1 care to the student during school hours and bus transportation
- Manage diapering, trach care, trach suctioning, and g-tube care as needed
- Accompany the student to and from school, meeting at the school and riding the bus to the student’s home
- Establish rapport with the student and family, working alongside the home health nurse for smooth transitions
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate any changes in health status to appropriate parties
