This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated LPN/LVN who thrives in a school setting and is eager to make a difference in the lives of students with unique medical needs. You’ll begin the assignment caring for a lively five-year-old girl with a trach and vent—she’s energetic, mobile, and loves to run and play—ensuring she enjoys a safe and inclusive educational environment.
The summer session runs July 7 to July 30 at a preschool program, with hours from 8 AM to 12 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (including transportation, hours could be 7:30–12:30). Beginning in September, your role transitions to a full-time, five-day schedule, supporting the same student as she starts Kindergarten in the new school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active LPN/LVN license in the state (required)
- Experience with pediatric patients, preferably within educational settings
- Skilled in tracheostomy and ventilator care
- Excellent communication and collaboration with educational teams and families
- Flexibility to support different schedules and classroom environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- One-on-one nursing for a Kindergarten-aged student with a trach and vent
- Monitor health status, administer medications and emergency interventions as needed
- Engage actively with teaching staff and related service providers
- Assist with transitions between activities and support the student’s independence
- Maintain detailed health documentation and communication logs
