An exciting opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) eager to make a positive difference in a school environment. This full-time contract position spans the 2026-2027 school year, providing specialized one-on-one care for a medically fragile student. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting a child’s health and educational experience, working closely with educators and families.
In this unique setting, your compassion and clinical skills ensure the student's needs are met—at school and during transportation to and from campus. Candidates should have prior experience or confidence in managing feeding tubes. Only onsite work is available, ensuring the highest level of direct support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Washington State LPN license, or eligibility and willingness to obtain
- Fingerprinting through OSPI or commitment to complete this requirement
- Previous pediatric, school-based, or one-on-one nursing experience preferred
- Confidence in using and caring for feeding tubes
- Ability to ride the bus with the student each school day
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sensitivity and patience for working with fragile or medically complex children
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive, one-on-one nursing care during the school day and transportation to and from school
- Administer feedings via tube and monitor for any changes in medical status
- Foster a supportive and safe environment in coordination with teachers, staff, and parents
- Maintain detailed, accurate records per school and state requirements
- Respond promptly to any health emergencies or student needs
