School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Lizton, Indiana

Step into a vital role providing one-on-one medical support for a student in an essential skills classroom. This school-based contract opportunity runs school days from 7:30 AM to 3:15 PM, beginning August 5, 2026. You’ll work closely with educators and healthcare professionals to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of a student needing continuous care throughout the school day.

What You’ll Do

• Administer medications via G-tube according to prescribed and school protocols
• Perform frequent suctioning throughout the day in line with medical guidelines
• Support oral feeding and hydration, ensuring safe swallowing and careful intake monitoring
• Provide sensitive assistance with toileting, maintaining the student’s hygiene, dignity, and comfort
• Use proper techniques and equipment to assist with lifting, positioning, and transfers
• Monitor and document the student’s health status, reporting concerns to the school nurse or appropriate staff
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other healthcare providers
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for the student

What We’re Looking For

• Current certification as an LPN
• Experience working with children and/or those with complex medical needs is highly desirable
• Training and/or experience with G-tube care, suctioning, and feeding support preferred
• Physically able to assist with lifting, positioning, and hands-on care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive nature
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to adhere closely to detailed care plans
• Sensitivity to confidentiality and student dignity
• Calm and responsive in urgent situations
