A rewarding opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated care to a student in the mid-elementary age range within a school setting in Matthews, NC. This contract position involves working closely with a student who has health impairments and requires assistance throughout the school day to ensure their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent nursing care to a student with health impairments during school hours (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
  • Assist with medical needs including diaper changes and catheter care in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Monitor the student’s health status and communicate effectively with school staff and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care and any health changes.
  • Support the student’s participation in school activities by ensuring their medical needs are met promptly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and valid LPN license required.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients in a school or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of catheter care and diaper changing is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate compassion and patience.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators and family members.

Location:

  • Position is based in a school environment in Matthews, North Carolina.

Contract Details:

  • Immediate start with the assignment continuing through the end of the school year, concluding in the last week of May.
  • Standard school hours from approximately 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
