Qualifications and Experience:
- Active K-12 School Nurse license
- Demonstrated independence and ability to work with limited supervision
- Eligibility to maintain “not disqualified” status after criminal background and Minnesota disciplinary incident research
- Proven experience in pediatric, school, or community nursing preferred
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with diverse student populations and their families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate temporary and emergency care, including first aid, to ill or injured students at a single K-8 school location
- Conduct health assessments and monitor development, including annual vision and hearing screenings
- Efficiently dispense, monitor, and record medications for students managing acute and chronic health concerns
- Collaborate with physicians and parents regarding medication updates or recommendations as necessary
- Prepare and maintain first aid kits for use in both school buildings
