School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - New Britain, CT

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Connecticut LPN license—required for consideration
• Demonstrated patience and a strong ability to build positive relationships with students
• Proven experience managing seizures in a clinical or school setting
• School nursing experience preferred, but not required—new to school environments are welcome
• Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and professionalism
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff, students, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily nursing care and address health needs for students throughout the school day
• Monitor and respond appropriately to seizure activity and related emergencies
• Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate health records
• Collaborate with school staff to support students’ educational and medical plans
• Offer first aid, assess illness/injury, and make appropriate referrals when necessary
• Educate students and staff on health practices as needed
