Step into a rewarding role supporting a middle school student in Hanover, PA, as a part-time licensed practical nurse. This contract position, beginning August 18, 2026, and ending May 27, 2027, centers on providing skilled care and compassionate guidance to a male student in an autism transition program. While the student is ambulatory and largely independent, your expertise will be crucial in seizure monitoring and emergency medication administration during work experiences and community activities.
This assignment offers variety and adaptability—a flexible weekday schedule determined weekly in collaboration with your supervisor. You can expect shifts to typically run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., two to four days each week, following the needs of the student’s program.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania LPN or LVN license, in good standing
- Prior experience in school, pediatric, or community-based settings preferred
- Strong observational abilities for seizure monitoring
- Comfort with administering emergency medication protocols
- Excellent verbal communication skills—particularly for offering verbal prompts
- Reliability and adaptability to a dynamic, flexible schedule
- Valid driver’s license for community travel with the student
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the student for seizure activity and provide immediate response if needed
- Administer emergency medication as per physician and school protocols
- Support independence during community-based transitions and activities
- Offer positive verbal prompts and guidance as needed
- Coordinate daily expectations and needs with school supervisors and building nurse
- Maintain clear and timely documentation
