Make a real impact supporting students in an educational setting. This fulfilling, full-time contract opportunity is based onsite near Newark, NJ, working 30-32 hours per week during regular school hours (8:45am–2pm). With a start date as soon as possible, you’ll be contracted through June 22, 2026, with the potential for additional work during the 2026-27 school year.
Contribute your nursing skills in a meaningful way by working 1:1 with a male 7th grade student. Your expertise will be valued every day supporting his health and educational journey.
What’s Needed:
- Active LPN or RN license (school or pediatric experience strongly preferred)
- Previous experience working in school health or with special needs children
- Competence in asthma care and management
- Proficiency administering g-tube feedings and managing catheters
- Skilled in seizure care and emergency interventions
- Able to assist with toileting and diapering as needed
- Willing and able to ride the bus with the student to and from school daily
- Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering comprehensive nursing care and support in a school environment
- Meeting the medical needs of the student, including medication administration, treatments, and monitoring health status throughout the day
- Providing hands-on support with mobility, feeding, toileting, and hygiene
- Ensuring safe and supportive transportation by riding the bus with the student each day
- Documenting and communicating student progress and any concerns with school staff and guardians
