School LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) | Newark, New Jersey

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to work one-on-one with a Pre-K aged student for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract role is located near Newark, NJ, supporting a young student in a school environment and ensuring their daily health and safety needs are met throughout the academic day.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active LPN or LVN license in New Jersey
• Previous experience as a school nurse or providing direct care to pediatric populations preferred
• Ability to work with Pre-K aged children, displaying patience and understanding
• CPR and First Aid certification (current)
• Competence in collaborating with teachers, school staff, and parents
• Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 nursing care and support to a designated Pre-K student during the school day
• Monitoring student’s health condition, administering medications, and performing medical procedures as prescribed
• Ensuring a safe environment and promptly addressing any healthcare needs
• Updating and maintaining accurate medical records and care logs
• Communicating regularly with the student’s guardians and healthcare team
• Supporting the student’s participation in classroom and school activities, adjusting care as needed
