A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is needed to support an 8th-grade student with complex health needs at a middle school in Nipomo, CA. This full-semester contract position offers the opportunity to provide direct, impactful care within a school setting, focused on a student with an eating disorder and emotional challenges. The role includes potential participation in an LVN pool to cover additional needs as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing support for a male 8th-grade student with complex medical and emotional conditions.
• Deliver care aligned with the student’s individualized health plans and educational goals.
• Participate in the LVN pool to assist with other students’ urgent medical needs or absences.
• Collaborate closely with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current California LVN license is required.
• Experience working in mental health nursing is highly recommended.
• Previous school nursing or pediatric experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with students and multidisciplinary teams.
• Male candidates are preferred for this role due to the student’s specific needs.

Position Details:

• Location: Middle School in Nipomo, CA.
• Schedule: Full semester contract from January 13, 2026, through June 9, 2026.
• Hours: 32.5 hours per week, typically 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
• Onsite presence is required.
