School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Orange Park, FL

Step into a dynamic role supporting students as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in school health rooms. This contract opportunity, located near Orange Park, FL, offers flexible part-time/PRN positions, with the potential for full-time status based on district needs. Assignments are typically at a single school (elementary, middle, or high school), where you’ll play a vital part in caring for school-aged children and adolescents.

As a valued member of the school health team, you’ll address various student health needs throughout the day and promote a safe, supportive environment. Before starting, you'll attend orientation and training at the district office to ensure confident integration into your school community.

What You’ll Need:

• Active Florida LPN license
• High school diploma or GED
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• School-based nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing (including fingerprint clearance via the AHCA Clearinghouse and JLA badge process)
• Flexibility to work PRN, sub, per-diem, or—potentially—full-time, depending on school needs
• Compassion, adaptability, and strong communication skills working with students across grades

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct care and basic first aid for students in the school health room
• Maintain accurate documentation of student visits and interventions
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding health-related matters
• Participate in health assessments and support care planning as needed
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations regarding student health and safety

Compensation for this role ranges from $29–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience and assignment.
