Apply NowA part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is needed to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support at an early childhood school in Palo Alto, CA. This contract position runs from now through June 4th, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 12:10 PM, Monday through Friday.
This role focuses on delivering specialized care to a preschool student requiring seizure monitoring and medication administration. The nurse will work closely with a 1:1 paraeducator and receive comprehensive training from the district nurse to ensure the highest quality of care. This opportunity involves supporting the student at a single school site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and documenting seizure activity throughout the school day
- Administering prescribed medications according to the student’s care plan
- Collaborating with the district nurse and paraeducator to maintain a safe environment
- Maintaining accurate and timely health records and communications
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Current valid LPN or LVN license with school nursing experience preferred
- Proven ability to manage seizure disorders and administer necessary medications
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with early childhood education settings is a plus
