What you’ll need to succeed:

• Current and valid LPN license in New Jersey
• Previous nursing experience in a pediatric, school, or community health setting is highly valued
• Strong assessment and communication skills
• Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in medical emergencies
• Comfort working with students from various backgrounds and with a range of health needs
• Flexibility to adapt during the school day and to changing circumstances
• Team-oriented attitude and a dedication to patient advocacy

Key responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Provide first aid and emergency care as needed
• Monitor and manage chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies)
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and parents regarding students’ health needs
• Maintain accurate student health records and follow reporting protocols
• Conduct health screenings and promote healthy habits within the school community
• Support the implementation of individualized health care plans
