School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Paterson, New Jersey

This position is located near Paterson, NJ, working weekdays from approximately 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM.

In this role, you'll provide direct medical care for a non-verbal student with autism, diabetes, and respiratory concerns. Your clinical skills and attention to detail will ensure the student’s safety and well-being throughout the school day. Support will be provided by the building nurse, but you will be the primary point of care and will not be reassigned or required to ride buses.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey RN or LPN license (RN strongly preferred)
• Experience with diabetes management, particularly with technology such as Dexcom
• Familiarity with respiratory monitoring and interventions
• Comfort and patience with feeding non-verbal students with pureed diets
• Prior work with children with autism or exceptional needs is a plus
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff and team members

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor Dexcom readings and administer care according to the student’s diabetes plan
• Observe and respond to respiratory health concerns promptly
• Feed the student pureed meals as directed
• Communicate and coordinate consistently with the building nurse and school staff
• Document care activities thoroughly
• Support the student’s comfort, dignity, and participation in the school environment
