Certified 1:1 School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Pelzer, South Carolina

A licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with certification is needed to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support to a high school student in a school setting in Pelzer, SC. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to deliver compassionate care to a cognitively high-functioning student who is paralyzed and requires specialized nursing assistance throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing care to a paralyzed high school student during school hours
• Assist with medical needs including ventilator care; LPNs with vent experience are encouraged to apply
• Accompany the student on the bus to and from school, ensuring safety during transit
• Monitor and respond to health changes or emergencies promptly
• Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to support student’s well-being
• Maintain accurate records of care and interventions
• Provide care Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; Wednesdays off as the student does not attend school that day

Qualifications:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and current licensure
• Experience with ventilator care strongly preferred
• Previous school nursing or pediatric care experience desirable
• Ability to provide attentive and compassionate 1:1 care to a student with significant physical disabilities
• Comfortable accompanying the student on bus transportation
• Reliable and professional demeanor with strong communication skills
