Make a meaningful impact supporting a high school student as a 1:1 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in an engaging school environment. This contract role is ideal for an experienced LPN seeking a rewarding opportunity in a supportive setting near Pelzer, SC. Work closely with a student who is paralyzed but cognitively high-functioning, ensuring their safety, comfort, and inclusion throughout the academic day—including bus transportation.

Enjoy a stable weekday schedule with 30 hours per week, and benefit from having Wednesdays off, as the student does not attend school on that day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current LPN license with certification
  • Prior experience with ventilator-dependent individuals required
  • Experience working in schools or with adolescents preferred
  • Committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Ability to foster trust and rapport with high-functioning students
  • Capable of riding the school bus with the student to ensure safety during transport

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 care and supervision to a high school student during school hours and while riding the bus
  • Monitor and manage the student’s ventilator and medical needs throughout the day
  • Collaborate with school staff, healthcare professionals, and family members to implement and update the student’s care plan
  • Promote a safe, inclusive environment that encourages learning and participation
  • Provide necessary medical interventions, documentation, and accurate communication
