School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

Make a meaningful impact in educational settings providing essential health services to students as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Multiple contract opportunities are available in schools, supporting learners at the elementary, middle, or high school levels. Based on district needs, these positions may be PRN (substitute/per-diem), part-time, or—with availability and approval—potentially transition into long-term, full-time assignments.

Licensed Practical Nurses will be vital members of the on-site school health team, working in student health rooms to address daily medical needs, manage medications, administer first aid, and support students with chronic health conditions. Requirements include mandatory orientation and training at the district office prior to starting, with classes offered monthly.

What we seek:

• Active Florida LPN license
• High school diploma or GED
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Preferred: Prior experience in school-based or pediatric care
• Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprint clearance through the AHCA Clearinghouse and obtaining a JLA badge (process may include verification or new prints, plus on-site picture at the district office)
• Strong communication, adaptability, and compassion for working with children and adolescents

Role responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operation of the school health office
• Manage a variety of student acute and chronic health concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and emergency care
• Maintain accurate health records
• Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure student well-being

This contract role offers competitive compensation, paying $29-30 per hour, and flexibility with hours and school placements. Opportunities are generally at a single site among multiple campus locations, and PRN roles are available year-round.
